Debian Sid, trackpoint more twitchy than normal?

Rubin Abdi
Did a safe-upgrade today on Sid with my X1 4th gen, running KDE. My trackpoint is all of a sudden slightly more twitcher than normally and I'm having a hard time placing my fingers on what changed. (pun intended). Anyone else notice this?

I noticed this as well. But I did not yet find a setting to set it back to the
old default. I did not take time to look toroughly tough.

ThinkPad T520 + KDE Plasma desktop.

Thanks,

I guess I didn’t upgrade for a while, but I am seeing it as well.

There were a bunch of changes to the hwdb entries in July 2016, maybe
thye made their way into Debian by now?
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commits/master/hwdb/70-pointingstick.hwdb

I do not know how POINTINGSTICK_CONST_ACCEL=1.0 maps to the settings in
/sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio1/serio2/ though.

there is also this change to libinput, which might be related:
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/wayland-devel/2017-July/034464.html

Unfortunately, I find this all very confusing, and with the daily used
trackpoint, a small change in behaviour is already quite irritating :-(

Thanks for the links!

It's been two weeks and to be honest I've gotten used to the slightly new behavior. I'll take a look at some of the details of that first bug you linked later today after work.

I think you're looking for
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98839 -- whose patch is
unfortunately still not included in the package in sid. :/

Kind regards
